Club Atlético Montemar is a large multi-sport club in Alicante, founded in 1931, whose La Albufereta centre covers 60,000 m². It has 21 tennis courts (17 clay and 4 synthetic), 10 padel courts, a 50-metre Olympic pool – according to the club the only heated outdoor pool of that length in the Valencian Community – plus football pitches, a gym and a restaurant. The club runs around 30 sports schools, from tennis, padel and swimming to gymnastics, judo and dance, and its rhythmic gymnastics section produced Olympic medallists at Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996. The courts host tennis tournaments such as ITF Seniors events, and a Spain–Ukraine Fed Cup tie was played here in 2013. Reviews often mention the family atmosphere, and one visitor particularly praises the junior tennis programme.
Courts are floodlit — evening play is possible.
